Greetings! My name is Njeri Laoshi, and I am the founder of Little Sheep Chinese Learning Center. I first began studying Mandarin Chinese language eleven years ago when I was in high school. I instantly fell in love with the language and continued at UC Berkeley where I graduated with a bachelors degree in Chinese language and was valedictorian of my department (2016). I went on to earn a Masters of Arts in Chinese language at Sanfrancisco State University (2025). As a Black student learning Mandarin in the education system, I longed to see myself reflected in the language I was learning. Little Sheep Chinese Learning Center was birthed from my love for Chinese language and distinct Kenyan and Black American roots.
