In-Person, ages 5-10, Mandarin, Swahili, Cooking, Field Trips!

Little Sheep Chinese Summer Camp offers a unique approach to Chinese immersion education. Through classroom and outdoor activities, cooking tutorials and local field trips, kids are able to maintain their Chinese speaking level and build their vocabulary over the summer. Language of instruction will be in Mandarin with English support for beginning Mandarin learners. They will also learn Swahili in the afternoons. No prior knowledge of Mandarin or Swahili is required.
We are offering three Mandarin immersion camps this summer. The theme of camp one is “Chinese Table.” Students learn how to order Chinese food and do some cooking tutorials of popular Chinese dishes. On Wednesday, campers go on a field trip to visit the library and get Chinese food in Oakland Chinatown. The theme of camp two is “Seed to Soul.” Students learn about different soul food dishes, how to prepare them and how to tend to them in the garden. On Wednesday, campers go on a field trip for a local museum tour, a scavenger hunt and outdoor park activities. Camp three is a second round of “Chinese Table” for those who missed it the first time. We offer small classroom sizes and personalized care. We hope you can join us!
